Recognized during the 1960s as one of the most daring and successful drivers on the Southwest drag racing circuit. In additions to his driving skill, the “Grandfather” of the Funny Car made drag racing history by helping to design and engineer the first altered wheel base models that were used in the factory match race wars between Chevy, Ford and Chrysler. These efforts helped Grady to achieve several world records in the American Hot Rod Association and the National Hot Rod association. Through dedication, charisma and national talent men like Grady Bryant had become Legendary Drag Racers.
